A great example of a clash between a fire and water zodiac sign comes when dealing with both Johnny (our Aries) and Kai (our Scorpio, a water sign). Both signs have a tendency to be stubborn, and both want to be a dominating force. While Johnny will go into a challenge and quickly leave it when bored, Kai will pursue the matter (especially if he happens to come out the loser!), and seek revenge. Personality- it is most often said that the typical Aries was born into the world screaming "me first!" Those born under the sign of Aries (or either of the other two fire signs) tend to be egotistical. This is very easily seen in Johnny, who just happens to be your typical Aries.
Recall the scene when Johnny challenged Kai (our Scorpio), and Kai immediately declined. Aries loves a good challenge, and hates being denied this. When Kai remarked to Johnny "seems someone skipped anger-management class," he was right on target. Aries tends to have a very fiery temper; they are easily angered. They can also become very aggressive and infantile in their behavior if they lose or do not get their way. After Johnny had won the battle, his friends commented on his rash behavior, and Oliver denounced it as "showing off." Being a fire sign, Aries is very flamboyant, but Johnny's actions were also out of a desperation to win. Kai was indeed a challenge for him, and because Aries cannot stand to be in a rank any lower than first place, Johnny was forced to take a more violent approach to the battle to ensure that he won.
A typical Aries trait won Johnny the first match, but another trait caused him to lose in the second round. Kai's stereotypical Scorpio vengefulness was what drove him back to Johnny, though Johnny was very obviously bored with having to fight the same person twice. However, his anger got in the way, and Aries tends to have poor listening-skills, especially when enraged. Because Johnny refused to listen to the advice of his teammates, he lost.
This is not to say that Aries is all show and an egotistical jerk. Although this is primarily what Johnny is, he does have his good side. Being an Aries, he is willing to step up and take a chance, whereas others may be afraid to do so. Like a ram, the symbol of this zodiac sign, he will slam heads with whoever steps in his path until he wins or grows bored. Taureans need someone who is loyal, because they are intensely loyal and cannot stand people who are not. Perhaps the best match for Taurus (and one of the best matches in the entire zodiac) is Cancer. Taurus is more than willing to cater to Cancer's emotional needs, and Cancer (who strives to be a parent) can more than satisfy Taurus' self-indulgent side and give them the security and stability they need.
Taurus cannot stand flighty air signs. Someone like Mystel (our Aquarius, an air sign) would not match well with a Taurus, as he is unstable and unpredictable, and this would upset the slow-moving Taurus who craves a comfortable routine. Taurus also dislikes the fire signs for their instability. For example, take Tyson (our Taurus) and Daichi (an Aries). Daichi is very energetic and bores easily, and this bothers Tyson, who, although he has his energetic moments, would just like to relax with some pizza and ice cream. Daichi's constant pestering for a challenge is also a great example of the Aries-Taurus relationship. The Aries craves excitement, whereas the Taurus craves comfort. Daichi had to work at Tyson to get his challenge, otherwise Tyson would not have moved. Personality- Slow and steady with a dogged determination. This is one sun sign that never gives up! Taurus is actually famous (and infamous) for being so stubborn and bull-headed, as well as for being lazy. However, Taurus is sometimes falsely accused. A Taurean likes to get things done at his or her own pace, which can make others think they are simply slacking. Taurus never wants to be rushed, and when one is, he or she can display some of the nastier traits of this sun sign.
The bull seems to best represent the angry (or motivated) Taurus-- stubborn and tireless. Tyson (our Taurus) knows and uses these aspects best. When faced with something seemingly impossible, or when enraged, he will charge endlessly until he accomplishes his task. After all this, however, a much-loved rest is in store.
Taurus is an extremely self-indulgent sign. One area of the body it rules is the thyroid gland, which controls metabolism in the body. A Taurus tends to have low metabolism, which means they are prone to suffering from weight gain. Exercise can help this, but getting a Taurus up and moving is like trying to push a wall: it simply cannot be done unless the Taurus is willing. This is not to say a Taurus is adverse to physical activity, however. Most enjoy it, but they can have a difficult time getting motivated.
One thing any Taurus loves to indulge in the most is food, and this certainly holds true for Tyson. When Kenny (our Virgo) first began helping and coaching him in beyblade, the only way he was able to motivate Tyson to work and train was by promising him treats and ice cream in return. Despite the fact that one may have to get through most Taureans through their stomach, these tough individuals are usually very strong and have strongly-built bodies. Tyson may have put on a bit of pudge from over-indulging, but his leg muscles are strong, and, if needed, he could move mountains with his combined stubbornness and strength.
It goes without saying that these bulls can get testy. They will be perfectly calm and peaceful one moment, then raging mad the next; and Taurus is not one sign that is famous for having a thick skin-- Taurus people tend to get angry very easily, and their tempers are explosive. They are some of the most loyal people in the zodiac, however. Tyson would never give up on any important cause, just as he would never give up on a friend or loved one. Possibly the worst match for Gemini would be a moody water sign. Cancer is too centered around a stable life and the home, but Gemini needs variety and wishes to be more active. Max (our Gemini) and Tyson (our Taurus) are great friends, but Max does undoubtedly become annoyed and bored with Tyson's sometimes lazy self. Max wakes up early in the morning, ready to start the day, but Tyson would much rather sleep in longer. Mystel (our Aquarius) would probably make a good friend for Max, as he is energetic and unpredictable and can offer variety. Personality- Max is a great example of how mutable Gemini can be. When something is mutable, it is changeable, adaptable, and agreeable. Max-- sometimes not of his own conscious thought-- is often swayed, and will adapt to a situation to keep the peace.
The sign Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, named after the messenger of the gods in mythology. Gemini is all about communication, and most Geminis are usually quick and agile and appear very youthful. Max's friendly disposition and talkativeness are to be expected of his sun sign.
Like the other air signs, Gemini is restless and enjoys moving about. They sometimes want to be in two places at once. The symbol of Gemini is the twins, and just as this suggests, the sign does seem to have a double personality. Usually easygoing and cheerful, Max can adapt when needed and become serious and show his more witty side. Both Kai and Rei have strong emotional needs, and can respect each other in this aspect. Cancer's best match, however, is Taurus. Rei appreciates the loyalty of a Taurus like Tyson, and Tyson enjoys the same, as well as the good food! Personality- Cancer is one of the most caring signs of the zodiac. Cancers care deeply for family and friends, and are intensely interested in family history and their ancestors. The fact that they care so much can also be a major downside, however, as they may become too involved. Rei, however, seems to be a fairly sensible Cancer. He usually keeps everyone in line, understanding them and their needs well and being willing to cater to them if need be (although, Rei cannot always take Tyson's complaining!). In this way, Cancers make great parents, and this is what they strive to be.
Ruled by the ever-changing moon, this makes Cancer quite a moody person, and Rei is indeed affected by his emotions. He can sometimes be shy and a bit reserved (though not as much as Kai, our Scorpio), but his friendliness usually shines through nonetheless. If hurt emotionally or having trouble, however, he will retreat to sort things out on his own. This Rei did when Driger left him, but Cancers do not give up on something they care about. However, because Leos demand to be the center of attention, they could get along fairly well with some water and earth signs. Michael (our Leo) is a perfect example of this sun sign's love of the limelight. His stunt at the American Tournament in which he jumped from a plane and parachuted down into the stadium was not merely done to show off. Leos love entertaining, it is what makes them happy. Ming Ming is another great example of this strong urge to please the crowd. Because Leo is a fire sign, people born under it tend to be very outgoing, and also egotistical!
Being king (or queen) is what a lion does best, and it is most certainly one thing a Leo does best. Tala, another Leo, is one who hates taking a backseat. It was because of the fiery Leo personality that he often mouthed off to Boris, and having Kai on the scene ruined his chances at being first in line-- something all Leos hate! Michael suffers from this as well when, during the charity match in Tippecanoe, Emily was chosen over him to play against the celebrity team. Leos are the actors and actresses, never the stage crew!
Underneath all the egoism and arrogance lies bravery. As one would expect, Leo sun signs truly do have the heart of a lion. They are loyal and very generous, and because of their outgoing personality, friends are always plentiful. A Leo would do anything when fighting for a beloved cause or individual, even if it means sacrificing their own life.

Kenny gets along well with Tyson (our Taurus), though conflict does occur when Tyson becomes lazy or too loud. Because Kenny has a tendency to be very nervous, he would do well with a friend who is understanding and can reassure him, such as Rei (our Cancer). His best match would be a Capricorn, like Garland. Both Virgo and Capricorn understand each other's goals and have similar needs. They are very down-to-earth signs and tend to be serious, ensuring things get accomplished. Personality- A hard and intelligent worker lies within every Virgo. They crave the opportunity to help other people, and would be well-suited to a career in the medical field. Virgos have the skills to excel at any demanding job. They are very organized and can take charge if needed. This Kenny exemplifies. Though he does not beyblade himself, he is dedicated and his interest in analyzing things is a great help to a group of friends who would no doubt be lost without him.
On the down side, Virgos never seem to be satisfied. They always set higher standards for themselves, but their hard work pays off. They may tend to get overly nervous or worried, and may become overdemanding. Tyson (our Taurus) finds Kenny's training regimine a bit too much, but, then again, Tyson also seems to be "allergic" to exercise. A great match for Libra is Gemini. Both have a lot in common, but offer enough variety so that neither one gets bored. Both signs are very open in communication, which both of them can appreciate. Recall the time Kevin decided he would steal data from the Bladebreakers. Obviously, he did not think this plan through very well, as it completely backfired on him. However, Libras are manipulative and sometimes looked down upon for their crafty lying. Kevin was very easily able to deceive Rei by making him think that he was winning, when in reality, Kevin was in the vantage position the entire time.
One notable trait about Libras is that they hate being alone. Most of them actually fear being by themselves. They crave the company of others, especially their friends. It goes without saying that Kai is not at all fond of Johnny (our Aries). Johnny's attitude and overly flamboyant personality only annoy Kai, and Johnny could never understand Kai's great mental depths. A Scorpio needs privacy, and this is something a fire or air sign could never accommodate. Personality- Undoubtedly one of the most interesting and dynamic signs of the zodiac. Scorpio will either be a sinner or a saint, but no matter which one it chooses to be, it will pursue its course with undying zeal. This moody water sign is often associated with sensuality, regeneration, and transformation, but also with jealousy and possessiveness.
Kai is the perfect representative of the typical Scorpio. He is passionate about and protective of the things he cares for most, beyblading for one. When threatened or hurt, however, he will show just how deadly the sting of a scorpion can be. Kai will not recklessly lash out when angry as Tyson (our Taurus) would, however. Instead, he seeks seclusion, taking time to plan out his revenge. This is exactly what Kai did after his loss to Johnny, and after his loss to Brooklyn. Scorpio is an extremely vengeful sign, and once hurt, they will never forget it, and will do anything to get back at whoever has caused them pain.
Vindictiveness is not the only aspect of the Scorpio personality that helped Kai ultimately win against Johnny and Brooklyn. His tenacity and cunning attitude played into it as well. Scorpios are penetrating and have deep concentration. All that time Kai was seemingly sulking or sitting off by himself in the shadows doing absolutely nothing, he was actually watching and observing. Scorpios are excessively curious and interested in mysteries and secrets and things they are not meant to know about, especially younger Scorpios. This insatiable curiosity and interest in the hidden is what fueled the conflict between a young Kai and a certain black phoenix.
Privacy is a vital part of the life of a Scorpio. Kai positively hates his personal affairs being meddled in, which is one reason why he is such a loner. Although it is true he has slowly but surely warmed up to his teammates, he cannot spend all of his time with them. Scorpios need an escape, a chance to be alone with their thoughts. This is not to say they are anti-social, however. Scorpios do appreciate their friends, but it may take them a while to warm up to them and actually consider them friends. Scorpios hate having to trust strangers, which is one reason why Kai was so adverse to his Bladebreakers teammates at first. Rather than have a large amount of people they know, Scorpios keep only a few very close friends and expect complete loyalty from them.
Scorpios, like their opposite sign, Taurus, can be extremely stubborn. They have an admirable tenacity, whether working toward a goal or overcoming physical or mental anguish. Scorpios do not get sick often, but when they do, it is often very serious, possibly life-threatening. Scorpios actions are represented by the mythical phoenix. Just like this magnificent bird of legend, Scorpios have the amazing ability to rise from the ashes of sickness, pain, or defeat and fly again.
Despite their critical, dangerous, and sometimes sadistic nature, Scorpios make loyal companions that would do anything for their beloved friends and family members. They are extremely emotional, but these emotions-- whether sadness, anger, jealousy, hate, pleasure, or joy-- fuel them and make them the dynamic individuals they are.

For example, Robert (our Sagittarius) can very well tolerate his fire sign teammates Enrique (a Leo) and Johnny (our Aries), although conflict may occur because all three of these signs enjoys being the leader.
A very independent person, Sagittarius would not enjoy having an earth or water sign around as they would become too possessive. Sagittarius can also not tolerate things that may seem sedentary or repetitive. For example, Robert refused a second battle with Tyson (our Taurus) because they had already battled once before and Robert had won. Having to repeat his actions is certainly too dull for this fire sign, and Tyson's typical Taurean stubbornness just drives Robert insane! Personality- Optimistic and adaptable, Sagittarius can be a very warm and friendly person. One should be cautious of their fiery attitude, however. Sagittarius can be hotheaded, as any fire sign, but, are thankfully not vengeful.
A comfortable routine and easy day-to-day living is definately not what a Sagittarius lives for. This bold and daring fire sign enjoys travel and longs to be free. Fortunately for Robert (our Sagittarius), he is wealthy enough to be able to go and do as he pleases. Tying down any fire sign is always a bad thing. They also hate having to commit to someone who is overly clingly, such as a water sign. Someone who would want them to stay home all the time will just not work, as they will want to be out and about.
Something that most people find bothersome about Sagittarius is the tactlessness. Even though Robert is well-mannered and on his best behavior, he sometimes is rude without realizing it. This is common. People born under this sign do not feel as though they are being insulting. Rather, they feel they know which way is best, and that it is their duty to inform others that what they are doing is wrong. They also tend to leap straight into something without thinking first. Robert is often a victim of this-- he insults others, though he does not always intend to be rude. He just thinks he is right while everyone else is at fault.

Aries makes an especially poor partner. Although they may enjoy a conversation or a loose friendship, these two have a tendency to clash. Although Pisces is a water sign, and can be a good match, Brooklyn often has too lackadaisical an attitude. Brooklyn would much rather lay around and daydream, which Garland cannot understand, as Garland enjoys working hard and getting something accomplished. Personality- One of the more shrewd and astute signs of the zodiac, Capricorns are intelligent and goal-oriented individuals. They are dignified, but can be self-conscious as they dislike being embarassed in public. Though their opinions are strong, they are not vain in the least.
Honor is one of the most important things to this sun sign, as is evident with Garland (our Capricorn). He is very obviously loyal to the traditions of his family, which nearly all Capricorns are. However, in the case of Brian (another Capricorn), who never had a real family to grow up with, the case is a bit different. Rather than adhering to a family history as Garland does, Brian shows loyalty to the way he was raised. Unlike Tala (a Leo, which is a fire sign), Brian is respectful of authority, as is Garland, and while working under Boris, he demonstrates this by becoming the perfect killing machine, taught all throughout life to destroy all he was ordered to.
Although Brian and Garland have very different goals, both have a certain honor to attain, whether it is done for one's family or because of the way one was raised. They cling closely to tradition. Depending on which situation the Capricorn was raised in (and other influences in his or her birth chart), keeping with tradition and seeking out honor can either be beneficial or detrimental to the Capricorn and/or other people.
On the plus side, Capricorns are hard-working, and this is definately true of both Brian and Garland. Had Garland not been so motivated and determined, he would not have reached such a high level; had Brian not been a hard worker, he would not have survived long enough to tell about his accomplishments, however violent they may be. On the bad side, this sun sign can become egotistical and may lose track of fighting the good fight for honor alone. Capricorns can become status-seeking, meaning they will want to get better and better and be labeled the best at whatever it is they are working at. Although Brian is not much a victim to this trait, Garland does suffer very much from it.
It is sometimes rumored and joked about that Capricorns are "evil" and could very well dominate the world. With such a strict attitude, strong motivation, and a tendency to be a slave-driver, this actually seems very feasible! Before anyone begins bowing down to Brian or Garland just yet, however, it is important to keep in mind that Capricorn is perhaps one of the more intelligent sun signs in the zodiac. The planet Uranus rules the zodiac sign of Aquarius, which makes quite a bit of sense when looking at an Aquarian like Mystel. Uranus is the planet dealing with unusual and unexpected things, and this Mystel applies not only to his life but his battle style as well. Brooklyn is the perfect example of the dreamy Pisces. He seems to go with the flow, as water does, letting life pass him by and drifting along. Hiro more than crossed the line with Brooklyn when he chided him for his actions after his loss to Kai, but the manner in which Brooklyn acted was to be expected of a Pisces. After suffering such an upset, he was driven to a manic depression and heavy amounts of self-pity. Rather than accept his loss, Brooklyn completely refused to accept it as the truth. Pisces people often try to avoid the harshness of reality by escaping into a world of fantasy that exists in their heads.
Brooklyn appears emotionless at first as any Pisces may, but the truth of the matter is he is merely keeping his mental self locked away as a precaution. Like water, the element that Pisces represents, this sun sign will drift along through life and generally tends to be easygoing... until emotional upset strikes, which it most definately will. Then, all hell will break loose, and the Pisces will not only be a danger to itself, but potentially to others, as in Brooklyn's case.

A beautiful number that is instantly catchy and would be loved not just by the followers of Pakistani music but even hardcore Bollywood buffs, 'Pyar To Hona Hi Hai' is a sugar coated track which is a superb track that one gets to hear before year end. Kamran Bari is excellent in his rendition as a young man who is realizing the essence of love and is truly enjoying every moment spent in bliss!
Now this is a song, which could be a potential chartbuster if treated well! Raghav Sachar, who has his own style of composition while mixing western sounds with Indian feel (as witnessed last year in Kabul Express and some of his private albums), creates 'Manzar'. It picks up heat after a few lines set the pace for things to follow, as has been the composer/singer's style and takes some exciting twists and turns throughout it's near four minute duration. Written by Aditya Dhar, this should be a song to watch out for as one waits to see how the choreographer has treated this high-on-beats number.
Wish I could get to choose Top-15 albums of the year rather than conventional Top-10; but then one has to live with the constraints! So here we go.
Partner (Music: Sajid-Wajid)
This was one soundtrack that deserved to go an extra distance but lost out due to non-performance of the film. It was always a risky preposition to have number of songs in a single album knowing very well that except for a song or two (Title song, 'Jaaniye'), most of the tracks would be relegated to a line or two as a part of background score in each of the 10 stories. New composer Gourov Dasgupta dominated the album with Shafqat Ali Khan, Anand Raaj Anand and Bappa Lahiri also pitching in. Gulzar's poetry was an added bonus too, hence making Dus Kahaniyaan one of the most versatile albums of 2007.
The film may have been one of the strangest of 2007 but no one complained when it came to music. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom featured a rocking soundtrack by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy which had an intrinsic Indian feel to it, in spite of high-on-western-orchestra arrangements. Title song featured on Amitabh Bachchan was a clincher though 'Ticket To Hollywood' and the climax medley of 'Jhoom' were popular too. One wishes though that 'Bol Na Halke Halke' should’ve got the kind of recognition it truly deserved.
The Train heralded the arrival of a new composer who made his presence felt in a big way with songs like 'Woh Ajnabee', 'Mausam' and 'Beete Lamhein' turning out to be chartbusters. Though Mithoon got into the thick of things last year too with songs from Bas Ek Pal and Anwar becoming popular, it was The Train which announced his arrival loud and clear. Presence of a certain Emraan Hashmi in the film helped too!
A late riser, Taare Zameen Par finally got it's due at just the right time - Thankfully! Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy forgot all about the work they had put in their 'dhin-chaak' soundtracks for the likes of Johnny Gaddaar, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Heyy Babyy, Salaam E Ishq and many more and concentrated on telling stories through a child's point of view. The result is for everyone to see as there no audience who didn’t weep when songs like 'Maa', 'Mera Jahaan' and 'Taare Zameen Par' were heard along with the narrative.
'Himesh Reshammiya in one more project' - and so one thought! But the album turned out to be surprisingly refreshing for the worst of Reshammiya detractors. Along with Javed Akhtar saab, the composer/singer came up with some of his best tunes that were quite un-Reshammiya - a compliment for the team associated with Namastey London. 'Chakna Chakna' may have been purely for the masses but songs like 'Main Jahaan Rahoon', 'Viraaniya' and 'Yehi Hota Pyaar' touched hearts across segments.
To think about it, this soundtrack didn't even have a name till around 3 weeks before it's arrival on stands. A surprise super hit, both when it comes to the movie as well as the music, Jab We Met has made history in the last quarter of 2007. Each and every song from the film has achieved a chartbuster status and while 'Mauja Hi Mauja', 'Nagaada' and 'Yeh Ishq Hai' are the songs blazing strong up North in all celebration events, 'Aao Milo Chalo', 'Tum Se Hi' and 'Aaoge Jab Tum' (Sandesh Shandilya) were for the hearts truly in love. Jab We Met would easily stand as one of the Top-10 soundtracks ever by Pritam!
Vishal-Shekhar were consistent throughout 2007 with music from Cash, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd and Ta Ra Rum Pum gaining good popularity. However, when it came to their positioning in the charts, they got a great thrust with Om Shanti Om making a huge dent on the stands. The album rose to the top position the moment it arrived and ever since then has been registering great sales. Though SRK's six-pack abs made 'Dard-E-Disco' most popular song of the album, it was 'Deewangee Deewangee' which was the best composition of the lot. Vishal-Shekhar were uniquely different from what they had done in the past, as demonstrated though songs like 'Aankhon Mein Teri', 'Dhoom Taana', 'Main Agar Kahoon', 'Jag Soona Soona Lage' and 'Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om', Yes, they all have been hits!
Pritam rules from the top in 2007! He was one composer who took up the challenge to do something different from the routine and combined with film maker Anurag Basu to not just create an entire soundtrack based on rock genre but went ahead and even created a band. Result was astonishing to say the least as lovers of new-age music feasted on 'Alvida', 'In Dino', 'Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si', 'O Meri Jaan' and 'Rishtey'. Cynics may have termed the soundtrack of Life In A...Metro to have sounded same from start to finish but this exactly was the beauty of this Pritam album. It maintained a similar style throughout and still conveyed different emotions through each of the tracks. Truly, the album of the year!
